#10. Navana/ Smells like teen spirit/ 1991
This music video was was great because it captured a moment. The video showed a group of teens basically trashing the video set. The band (narvana) and the music director did not get a long which does reflect in the video. At the same time making it a great video.
#9. Madonna/ Vogue/ 1990
This music video was about a dance which was used instead to settle an argument or a feud. This was a new craze which was done in clubs and parties.
#8. Verve/ Bittersweet symphony/ 1997
This music video was all about a northern lad who comes down to the south and he is acting like a tough guy. Attitude is represented in this music video. It shows that he doesn't really care about anyone as he is in the centre of the shot barging everyone in his way as to say he should have full authority.
#6. Michael Jackson/ Billie Jean/ 1983
Michael Jackson Billie Jean music video was one of the most spectacular music video in a sense that Michael Jackson had to learn a new dance on the same day of the recording. The music video capture the idea of a magical experience. Michael Jackson was always a fan of magic, so implementing that with this video gave it a sense of excellent. This was one of Michaels first video and being black it pushed boundaries trying to get on MTV, which eventually it did.
#5. Madonna/ Like a Prayer/ 1989
This video was one of the most controversial videos at the time. The video had some biblical references in it that did shock people. The 'Like a prayer' video did also have some racial aspect to it. The whole idea is that Madonna sees a person who has committed a murder who happens to be white and we see a black man going to help the woman murdered but gets caught. Madonna is threatened by the murderer, but in the end confesses to release the black man who is in prison which is represented as a church also.
